Kev here...just dropped by to tell everyone...

Lis had the baby yesterday...Wed the 24th at 4:15 PM

He has no name but is in perfect health and has all the right parts in all the right places...well the same places as me anyway!

He is 8 Lbs 6 Ounces, 19.9 inches long, and has a head circumference of 14.4 inches! Pretty big head! Lots of brains like his daddy ;)

I am unable to post pics because the computer has heaps of infections and it is totally buggered...doesn't recognise any cameras properly anymore. I will try to fix it soon so Lis can post pics for you all!

We thought we'd take advantage of the last time Caitlyn could fly for free before her birthday, and go and visit everyone in Bundaberg. It was nice to be able to celebrate her birthday with everyone at the same time, as she didn't get to do that last year.

There are so many photos I will have to break them up into groups, and this might take awhile to load!

It's been so long since I updated, cause there hasn't really been anything to update about.
My camera has been refusing to work most of the time, or taking absolutely forever to load the photos onto the computer, and the batteries seem to be flat every time I try and use it!

I do have photos from our trip up to Queensland though, taken on Judy's camera. And I also have some photos from when Nanma and Grandpa were visiting back in May. (yes it's taken me this long!)

Here are a few photos taken the other day. Caitlyn was being silly and running around and I couldn't get her to sit still for a photo, but they are still cute :)

Also a photo of the wool we dyed. The first one was with dyes, but didn't really come out very bright, it's brighter than the photo though. The other 2 are using food dye. I can't wait to try some more, but I have soooo much sewing to do I think I will be at the sewing machine for the next few hundred years.

Did I mention before that Caitlyn has 15 teeth now? I wonder how many I had at this age... I'm sure it wouldn't have been that many.
She's finally really progressing with her speech. I don't know how many words she knows now, but she seems to be learning more every day. She knows mum, dad, ball, teddy, night night, hello, byebye, love you, popper (juice box?... she's obsessed with these baby sized juices that are mostly water...they taste ick!), thank you.... ummm and I can't remember any others, but I'm sure there's more.
She knows a lot of animal noises too, but I'm not sure if they count.

I've been showing her photos of her Nanma and Pa, and explaining who they were, because they are coming to visit in less than a month, and Mum is worried that she won't remember them.... But I don't think she really grasps the concept of photos yet. (because she calls all photos "Pa!" now.. haha!) She recognises herself, and thinks it's funny to see herself, but I'm not sure about anyone else.
It's funny though cause she recognises animals in pictures and drawings and stuff.... she will loudly meow if she sees anything resembling a cat. Sometimes they don't even look remotely like cats and she still knows!

Funny kid.

Just thought I'd do a quick update about what Caitlyn's been up to lately... before I get to bed.

She's starting to talk a lot more, but still not as much as we'd all like. She still tends to grunt and whine and point and then yell when she doesn't get what she wants, which is very frustrating for everyone.

It's taken quite a bit for her to learn more body parts, but she now can point to (hers and yours) eyes, ears, nose, teeth (for some reason it always became teeth and not "mouth"), toes, belly and head. Sometimes she randomly remembers others, but not consistently.

She's also been practicing her animal noises and knows the sounds for dog, cat, horse, bunny and sometimes cow, if she's feeling generous ;).

Today I bought her a plastic chair that she's become very attached to. She wanted me to take it out of the stroller for her all the way home, as it was hanging out the back and hitting me in the legs. And after we got home she carried it around for the rest of the afternoon, and had to sit on it to eat her dinner.

She now knows how to turn the dvd player (well... ps2) on and change the tv to the dvd channel and then press buttons on the playstation to make a dvd play. That could keep her occupied for hours some days. Other days she gets mad at it after a couple of minutes and stomps off to find something else to get into.

Well Kev wants to go to bed, so I better get moving.

these photos are from christmas time, when we were staying a couple of nights with my nan and pop. these little girls live next door to them (and spread their toys all over the driveway)

this one is her in the bathroom reading... you can see the unravelled toilet roll behind her. :P

these ones were taken when she brought the camera into me when she'd just woken up. she wasn't too happy that I was taking photos of her though! LOL

these photos are all from her new toy area that we set up... to get all the toys out of the living room where they were making a big mess. so now she has a bookshelf and her quilt on the floor and all of her toys to play with.

she was blowing her dad a kiss in this one!

she always does this weird thing when she's excited... where she puts her hands behind her back and leans over and squeals haha.

Such a long time between updates... sorry everyone.
Haven't had much to update about.

Caitlyn got 2 more teeth in the past couple of weeks, the first bottom 2 molars.
She was very miserable for awhile... chewing on her hands and drooling everywhere, but she's felling better now.

I know this is shocking but I only have 1 photo this time.

We went to Trev's (the discount/bargain/$2 store whatever you want to call it)
and bought a few things, and got Caitlyn these reindeer ears/antlers. She has since ripped them apart *sigh* but they are fixable....just a bit of glue will have them back together

On Monday we went shopping in Mt Gambier, and the only way we could keep Caitlyn under control was to put her in the trolley *laugh*

These last photos are from the car trip home. She was so tired, because she whined and cried the whole way there when she was supposed to be sleeping (and was really overtired). So by the time we got in the car to come home we barely started driving and she was fast asleep.

Last weekend, Mum came to visit because she had a work related comittment in Adelaide... and of course had to come and visit us :D.

On sunday we went for a drive and went to the beach at Kingston, which was not very nice at all.... we couldn't see the sand because there was so much seaweed :P and the flies were TERRIBLE. But we did have some nice fish and chips for lunch.
We drove to Robe and checked out the beach. Caitlyn really liked walking on the sand, but she was afraid of the water. The waves were quite small, but she still didn't like getting her feet wet, or the feel of the wet sand, not sure what it was exactly that was scaring her, but she didn't like it!

These photos were taken before she panicked in the wet sand and fell on her bum, soaking her pants.

I am sorry everyone, I have been so busy with sewing and dying and CLEANING UP AFTER SOMEBODY..... that I haven't had much time to update here. I have a few posts to make, mostly photos, because I know I haven't posted many of them lately.

The other weekend I sat with the camera and took a whole bunch of photos while Caitlyn was playing... she sure makes some funny faces...

Kev was in his underwear in the background of this one, he might not have been too happy if I posted that. haha. so I blurred it out.

I posted this in my journal awhile ago but forgot to post it here too. Not spending much time on Livejournal lately... keep forgeting :|

I am so terrible.. hahahehehe. But I have to post these. They are too cute to pass up.
Yesterday afternoon I ran out to buy some things for dinner, and Caitlyn was in a bad mood... overtired as usual because her nap... as USUAL was 45 minutes long.
Anyway... this is what I found when I came back...

It was way too late for her to be sleeping, so we had to wake her up, or she wouldn't have wanted to go to bed until midnight...

And just so you know she wasn't traumatised by it... here she is half an hour later eating her dinner.
haahaha.

I think Caitlyn is left handed. I have been wondering for awhile... but she wasn't very consistent... yesterday I cut up a banana for her and she picked the pieces up with her left hand... and then later on last night she was walking around, and bending down and picking things up off the ground with her left hand.

Last night Caitlyn decided she wanted to walk all around the house. I think finally she actually wanted to walk... I didn't have to convince her. She just ate her dinner (and has some on her face still)... and was chewing on an apple. She carried this apple around for like an hour haha. I have a couple of videos of her walking but they're not very good... and I don't have anywhere to upload them to.
